John Thomas Thorpe

John T. Thorpe 1979 ~ 2015 John Thomas Thorpe, beloved son, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away June 28, 2015 in a tragic motorcycle accident in Little Cottonwood Canyon while camping with his family. John was born September 9, 1979 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of George Van Thorpe and Annette S. McKelvie. He was raised in West Jordan and completed his schooling at West Jordan High. John made many friends and he was a friend to all. He has a beautiful daughter, McKell, who he called his "Little Noodle". He was a great, supportive father and always so proud of her. He loved the great outdoors and all the beauty of Utah. He loved to fish, hunt, golf, and watch football. He was a great cook and loved to BBQ. John worked for Winrock Construction Products and loved working with his co-workers. Survived by daughter, McKell; parents; siblings Vanessa (Todd) Mabey, Jared (Wendy) Thorpe, Sarah (Spencer) Mabey; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at the West Jordan 19th Ward, 2700 West 7000 South. Viewings will be held Friday, July 10, 2015, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
