On February 2, 2017, Jose Daniel Cayama passed away unexpectedly in his sleep due to complications from on ongoing battle with heart failure. He has now been reunited with his mother Kerri Lynn Glover Ramirez, who preceded him in death in 2005. Jose Daniel was born December 7, 1986, in Murray, Utah. He was the oldest of 6 siblings: Kaela, Audry, Tristian and Christopher Cayama, children of Jose Gregario Cayama, as well as Joshua and Jordan Ramirez, sons of Kerri Lynn Glover Ramirez and Fermin Ramirez. Jose graduated from Highland High School in 2005. He furthered his education and obtained his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Everest College, graduating in 2015. He was blessed with his son, Mason Douglas Cayama, on September 22, 2013 and married Chelcey De Flanders Cayama on July 25, 2014. He will be leaving behind an unborn daughter, Kerilyn Grace Cayama, due May 2017. Jose was the sunlight in every room. He loved to make friends with everyone and could to talk to anyone for hours. He had a contagious laugh and giggle that would make the people around him smile even if they didn't want to, you just couldn't help it. He loved to do any activity that included being around people whether it was just being at someone's house, going out to concerts, taking random adventures in the mountains, 4-wheeling, fishing, shooting, camping, or just going for a drive to relax. He especially loved football and was the biggest Oakland Raiders fan, win or lose Raiders all the way. Most importantly he loved his family. He could always bring a smile to his son's face, whether it was just playing at the playground together or hiding from monsters under the covers. No matter what they were doing they were giggling together. Jose is survived by his wife Chelcey; son Mason; and unborn daughter Kerilyn; father Jose Gregario (Nacary) Cayama; sisters Kaela and Audry; brothers Joshua, Jordan, Tristan, and Christopher; grandparents Charlie and Virginia Glover; stepfather Fermin Ramirez; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that he was very close to. Preceded in death by his mother Kerri Lynn Glover Ramirez; and aunt Gaylene Glover Bringard. Funeral services will be held, Thursday, February 9, 2017, 12:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where viewings will be held, Wednesday, January 8th, 6-8:00 p.m. and again prior to services from 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
