When Bob Marley said, "The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively" it's as though he were speaking about Dan. Joseph Daniel Kimball was born on March 10, 1955 in Salt Lake City, UT. He was the third of five children born to Joseph Edward (Ted) and Dorthea Tilt (Dot) Kimball. He greatly enjoyed being the only boy of the family and all the benefits that came with that. Annoying his two older sisters, Sandy and Colleen, and protecting his two younger sisters, Peggy and Ruth, brought him great joy and provided numerous stories and memories to be shared over the years. As much as his boyhood antics and sense of humor at their expense annoyed them, Dan was adored by his sisters. After graduating from Granger High School, Dan married and became father to three children, Nicole, Andrew and Skyler. He was a devoted and adored father; teaching his kids all the important things like how to walk, ride a bike, drive a car, change a tire, and deliver the punch line of a joke. He shared his passion for nature, music, travel, spirituality, and service to others. Many memories were made with his kids enjoying these things. Dan's early work life was spent in the family business laying carpet with his dad. He was a beautiful craftsman and freely gave of his time and energy to lay carpet for friends and family his entire life. The last 28 years he worked for The Boeing Company. His strong work ethic, peaceful demeanor, and leadership skills made him a favorite among his coworkers and management and many of his dear friends are coworkers from The Boeing Company. Papa Dan is proud grandfather to four amazing kids, Brooklyn and Rylee Muir (Nicole), Isaiah Kimball (Andrew), and Lennon Kimball (Skyler). He loved to spoil his grandkids and made a huge effort to be a part of every possible game, recital, and birthday celebration. Dan spent the last several years with the love of his life, Paulette. She, along with her daughters Sara and Amie, brought unfathomable joy to his life. Dan and Paulette shared a love for travel, gardening, books, yoga, nature, music, animals, and helping others. The peace and calm they brought to each other's lives was shared with all who know and love them. Dan was welcomed to heaven with open arms by his parents. His sarcastic sense of humor will be missed by his four sisters, Sandy (Brian) Everett, Colleen Jamison, Peggy (Marv) Paynter, and Ruth (Tom) Tidwell. He is now watching over his children and grandchildren Nicole, Brooklyn and Rylee Muir; Andrew and Isaiah Kimball; Skyler, Brittney and Lennon Kimball; Sara and Zach Collins; Amie and Christopher Kohn; and his soul mate, Paulette Notz-Sosebee.
