Joseph Raymond "Ray" Jones passed away April 15, 2015. Ray was born December 20, 1934, to Jesse Benjamin and Marie Margaret Worner Jones in Salt Lake City, Utah. On June 29, 1956, he married Carolyn Louise Lane Warner; they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 10, 1972. He loved his family and would do anything for them. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Ray was an outdoors man and enjoyed fishing. He retired as a foreman from Morton Salt. He was employed as a Unified Police Crossing Guard at the time of his passing. Survivors include his children, Kenneth Jones, Donald (Robin) Jones, and Melvin (Carla) Jones; son-in-law, George Hastings; grandchildren, Kenna (John) Forsyth, Sean (Dallas) Jones, Michael (Evelyn) Hastings, Kyle (Brenda) Jones, Jason (Jessica) Jones, and Ryan Hastings; and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kelsey, Blaze, JayLynn, Eian, Alexis, Kade, Carter, Zoie, and Elijah. He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Wendy Hastings; parents; brother; and sisters. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at the Copper Hills LDS 7th Ward, 4195 South 6000 West, in West Valley City, where viewings will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday prior to services.
