Jody D. Paras passed away peacefully January 3, 2015. She was born January 13, 1921, in Preston, Idaho. She was the youngest child of James and Virginia Dorigatti. Jody graduated from Preston High School and moved to Salt Lake City shortly thereafter. While living in Salt Lake City, Jody met Chris Paras and they were married in 1942. In 1958, Jody, Chris, and their son, Richard, opened Chris and Dick's Hardware. Over the 42 years that Jody was active in the business, she enjoyed making many friends and acquaintances. In 1987, she was awarded The West Valley City Businesswoman of the Year. Jody loved traveling all over the world, especially Hawaii. One of her most memorable trips was when she took her two granddaughters to Washington, DC many years ago. In recent years Jody has enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren, so much so that every wall in her home was covered with family photographs and children's artwork. Jody is survived by her son, Richard (Kairi); her granddaughters: Susan Paras-Sacchi (John); Wendy Warner (Robert); twin grandsons, Andrew (Elizabeth) and James (Tabitha). Jody was extremely proud of her twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jody was preceded in death by her husband Chris, one brother and three sisters. Services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to services.
