Joy (Josephine) May Mackintosh Simpson, 83, died October 8, 2014, in Washington, Utah. Born May 1, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Florence and Albert "Bud" Mackintosh. Married Cecil Simpson January 2, 1953. Joy was a true joy to all who knew and loved her. She loved being a visiting teacher and member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers and Red Hat Society. She was a very talented at Japanese Bunka needlework, quilting, and crochet, leaving many beautiful pieces to be cherished by her family. She is survived by her husband, Cecil; daughter, Cindy (Tim) Reder; son, Rock (Christy) Simpson; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and sister, Carol Chido. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Beverly; and brother, Ray Mackintosh. A viewing will be from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, October 18, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, in Taylorsville.
