Our loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Oct. 9, 2018 in her home. She was born September 11, 1926 to Fredrick Bell and Eliza Tressia Shields in Toole, Utah. On September 13, 1946 she married her sweetheart, Gilbert Searle, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with six children, Eileen (Lewis) Squires, Kathleen (John) Western, Fred (Karen) Searle, Sheri (Daniel) Winona, Paul (Kristene) Searle, and Eleanor (Warren) Broadbent; 27 grandchildren including 21 granddaughters and 6 grandsons; 78 great-grandchildren with 3 more coming; 2 great great grandsons. Soon after their wedding they moved to Logan, UT. After Gilbert graduated they moved to Colorado, where they lived for 5 years then returned to Utah. After he retired, Gilbert and Joyce worked for Harza Engineering in Egypt and Pakistan. She will be remembered for her cooking, sense of humor, love of games and puzzles and especially being with family. Also for her faithful service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in many callings. She was always thinking of others and was a great example of service for family and friends. She was greatly loved by her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We are greatly blessed to have had her in our lives for so many years and now know she is with dad and other loved ones who passed before her. A viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:45 am, Monday October 15, 2018 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at the Taylorsville LDS 9th & 19th Ward Building, 2030 W. Chateau Avenue.
