Judith A Wendel, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Friday morning, July 13th, in her Kearns home, surrounded by her family. Judy was born in SLC to Chester Franklin Foote and Elnora Louise Carter Foote and lived in Nephi during her childhood. She married Charles K. Jones and had five children; later divorced. She married Don C. Wendel on July 23, 1971 in Elko, Nevada. Together they lovingly cared for Judy's (5) children, several foster children and adopted their beloved, Tanna "Banana." Judy loved to be surrounded by her children and family and devoted much of her life to raising her own, caring for her grandchildren, foster children and many other children in her home day care. She went on to work in the Kearns Junior and Senior High School cafeterias, where she could continue to help and feed the youth. Judy left a legacy of love, service and sacrifice for all she knew and met. Her life (and her death), were defined by both her amazing strength and dignity. Survived by her, brother, Glen D. Foote; son, Micheal D. (Jill), Jones; son, Charles R. (Connie), Jones; daughter, Sheri L. (Michael) Love; daughter, Kimberly A. Hover; son, Shawn K. Jones; daughter, Tanna L. Wendel; and Deon Peterson; 16 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Elnora Foote; husband, Don Carl Wendel; sisters Veda Bernice; Melba, (Max) Knight; Donna (Dick) Bailey; and brother, Lawrence (Jean) Foote.
