Judith Ann Smith Brady

December 26, 1942 — February 18, 2022

Judith Anne Smith Brady passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 18, 2022. She was born on December 26, 1942, to Oren George and Ruth Rebecca Smit in Oakland, California. Judy was the second of three girls and often joked about having the “middle-child” syndrome. She attended West High School and Cosmetology School. She excelled in everything she did. Judy met her husband, Roger, the light of her life, in Ballston Spa, New York.  They were married on December 6, 1975, and were later sealed on February 24, 1978, in the Washington D.C. Temple. They left New York and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah to be closer to her family. Family was very important to Judy and she loved each and every one very much. She was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She served in many different callings in the Church and loved to serve others. Judy had a giving heart and wanted to share all that she had with everyone.

Judy worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Distribution/Print Center. She made many wonderful friends while there. After Roger’s passing, she spent as much time as she could with her sisters, nieces, and nephews. Judy deeply loved her two sisters and her extended family. She truly endured to the end.

Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Roger A. Smith; son, Michael Smith; parents; and son JR Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Alyson (William) Jones; grandchildren Jennifer Fink, Amy Steiner; and great-grandchildren Noah Jones and Evelyn Fink all of Up State New York; her two sisters, Sharon (Boyd) McKnight, Renee (Ken) Hill;  and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly and who dearly loved her. She also leaves behind her many dear friends who we are so grateful to for all they did to serve Judy in her last days.

We also express appreciation to Intermountain Hospice Care for their service to Judy.
