Julie West Casos, 73, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a prolonged illness. Julie was born in Buffalo, New York on September 28, 1942 to Thomas Willard West and Gladys Ruth Edmonds and was raised in the Baha'i faith. She and her brother Michael grew up in Williamsville, New York where she graduated from Williamsville Central High School. After graduation, she moved to Reno, Nevada, and attended the University of Nevada, Reno attaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1965. She taught English for two years, and then moved to Winnemucca, Nevada where she found her true calling as a social worker, caring for the less fortunate. She worked in this capacity for the State of Nevada, Division of Child and Family Services for 30 years, helping numerous families during trying times. She married her sweetheart, Roger Manuel Casos, in Winnemucca on December 29, 1988. With that union she inherited an enormous family and helped raise two teenage boys, Steven and Robert. After their retirement, she and Roger moved to West Jordan, Utah in 1999 to be close to the rest of the family: Lourdes, Roxanne, Hilda, Julie, and Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Gladys and her brother Michael West. She is survived by her brother's children Tom and Sally, and her husband's family: two sons, five daughters, and nineteen grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on November 6, 2015 at the LDS Church at 5349 W 9000 S in West Jordan, Utah. Place of Birth:Buffalo, New YorkPlace of Death:Salt Lake City, Utah
