June Arvilla Jensen Rabiger 1916 ~ 2013 Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, June Arvilla Jensen Rabiger, passed away peacefully at home on July 31, 2013 at age 97, surrounded by her family. She lived actively and independently until her final days. Mother was born June 8, 1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Christian Jensen and Minda Sofie Andersen Jensen. She married Edward Elmer Rabiger February 14, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. They both grew up in the Poplar Grove Ward of Pioneer Stake and lived there until they moved to the Cottonwood Stake in 1959. Mother was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, a favorite being song leader in Jr. Sunday School. Ed and June fulfilled a mission together in Nauvoo, Illinois in 1978-1980. After their return they served as temple ordinance workers in the new Jordan River Temple. Mother had a deep testimony of Jesus Christ and bore it in teaching and serving her family and others. She was recently recognized for seventy-five years faithful visiting teaching. Mother loved music and she loved to sing. She had songs that cheered the heart or taught a lesson for every situation, which she sang to her dying day. She was preceded in death by Ed in 1998, her parents, and brothers Norman Jensen, Marvin Jensen, Raymond Jensen; sisters, Carrie (Mark) Jackman and Celia (Thomas) Drury, and an infant grandson. She is survived by her six children: JaNice (Dennis) Taylor, Joyce (Calder) Hammond, Sandy (Marvin) VanDam, David (Susan) Rabiger, Deanne (Steven) Clegg, and Marlene Kay. She loved and was loved by forty-three grandchildren and one hundred twenty-seven great-grandchildren. Her posterity was her pride and joy; she taught them continually by word and example. She would fall asleep looking at their pictures on the wall beside her bed while reciting all their names. Among others she loved dearly were her friends and neighbors in the Poplar Grove and Cottonwood 4th Ward, and all her nieces and nephews.
