Bob Brown 1927-2011 Bob Brown, known to his family as Poppa, and to his wife as Honey, passed away on July 28, 2011, after a long battle with Myasthenia Gravis. Bob was born to F. Kenneth and Eleanor Durkee Brown on May 31, 1927, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He met Mary Lou Ferguson in the 8th grade and one wink was all it took!! He was also her paperboy delivering the Salt Lake Telegram. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 and served on the USS Shamrock Bay during WWII. He was honorably discharged from the Navy on July 23, 1946. They married eight days later on July 31, 1946. He died three days prior to their 65th Anniversary. Bob started his career at the age of 5 selling Liberty Magazines for 5 cents apiece, and ended his career as the Parts Department Manager at Steve Harris Imports when he retired in 1992. He was also a proud member of the Hi-Steppers Dance Club. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Ferguson Brown; their three old kids, Bob (B.J.) Brown; Debbie (Mohammed) Salti; Carrie (Paul) Barker; his three grandchildren, Scott Brown, Erica and Zak Salti; his two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Kylee Brown; and his special buddy Cheech. Mary Lou would like to give special thanks to Dr. Diana Banks, Dr. Gary Griffin, Merilene, and Angelica.
