K. Wallace Jensen Wally K. Wallace Jensen passed away peacefully at his home in Riverton, Utah on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Wally was born September 27, 1926, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Louis Wallace Jensen and Florence Kelly. His family moved to Southern California when he was a baby. He grew up in Los Angeles, Glendale and Burbank. The day after his 18th birthday, he was sworn into the U.S. Navy and served for nearly two years in Chicago, IL, San Francisco, CA and San Pedro, CA where he was ship's clerk, pharmacist and electronics expert on a mine sweeper. Wally graduated from the University of Southern California in electrical engineering. He worked for many years in the aerospace industry, designing test equipment and testing missile parts. Wally was able to fix anything at home. He designed and built stereo equipment and furniture. He rebuilt cars. With his wife Yvonne he designed four homes in CA, AZ and UT. He enjoyed classical and jazz music and played the ukulele. Wally was a master gardener. He and Yvonne owned and managed a nursery in San Clemente, CA for four years. Wally married Yvonne Arave on April 26, 1957 in the Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They lived in various cities in southern CA, moved to AZ in 1989, and to UT in 2004. He was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne; his parents; and a great-granddaughter, Hadley Harris. He is survived by his brother Charles Robert (Mary Ellen) Jensen, Paris, TN; his daughters: Sharman (Roger) Toronto, Pinetop, AZ, Diana (Ronald) Harris, Gold Canyon, AZ, Mitzi (Albert) Fretz, Riverton, UT, and Deborah (Robert) Luke, Riverton, UT; 19 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren. Wally was known as a quiet man with a wry sense of humor. He was quick to bring smiles to family and friends with jokes and funny sayings. He served faithfully in many Church callings including M Men leader (Young Single Adults), dance director, high priests' group leadership, home teacher, and emergency preparedness committee member. He and Yvonne served a family history Church service mission in Paulden, AZ. The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at the Copper View 4th Ward, 12232 S. 3200 W., Riverton, Utah, where a viewing will be held, 8:00-9:30 a.m. prior to the service.
