Karen Bingham Karen Ann Lundquist Bingham passed away Sunday 14 September 2014 after a lingering illness. Karen was born June 8, 1951 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She lived in Swan Valley, Idaho on the Lundquist Ranch where her parents Kenneth Boyce Lundquist and Karen Annette Armstrong Lundquist farmed and raised cattle. Karen was one of seven children born to this family. Karen attended and graduated from Ricks College where she met Raymond W. Bingham in 1970 on a blind date. They were married August 27, 1971 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and later moved to Utah where they established a home in Sandy and raised a family of 6 children. Karen held many positions in Stake and Ward callings and was a devoted member of the LDS Church. She was very service oriented and provided many hours of service to others in helping them better their lives. She loved seeing people progress and helped to lift them up to a better setting. For over 35 years she attended Stake Girls camp sometimes as director and sometimes as one of the leaders and other times just to be there. She loved the young girls and dearly loved to see them grow up into beautiful women and conduct their lives accordingly. She served as Relief Society President, Primary President, Young Women's President both ward and stake, ward missionary, and many others. One of her greatest callings of service was playing the organ in the Temple chapel. Karen worked for years with Boulder Bag and White Bear Manufacturing where she sewed tool belts and a myriad of other items. She loved to sew and was very good at it and as she sat at one of her many machines while working, she would listen to books on tape and enjoy the writings of others. Karen loved her children and grandchildren and was sad for a while when they lived so far away and couldn't see them as often as she wanted to. Children and grandchildren meant everything to her and always had some project in mind to make them things so she had something to give. Her faith in the Savior was her underlying strength. She was a spiritual giant, a pillar of faith not just spoken but lived each and every day. She always fulfilled her calling as wife, mother, and servant of the Lord. She has engraved her image in the minds of many others who have seen her in action. She loved and lived the Gospel of Jesus Christ and testified of it. She will be greatly missed by her family but we know that she still lives and will have great influence yet on those of us who remain behind for a season. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Boyce Lundquist and is survived by her husband, Raymond W. Bingham, sons Mel (Ann) Bingham, Brian K. Bingham, Paul K. Bingham, daughters Traci Bingham, Emily (Nick) Sundquist, Jenilee (Seth) Iverson, and 13 grandchildren, Ammon, Nate, Gabriel, Isaiah, Eliza, Gabriela, Daniella, Halia, Landon, Savannah, Isabella, Henry and Oliver. The family of Karen wishes to express their deepest thanks to the medical teams at the University of Utah Hospital who worked tirelessly to help save Karen's life in this ordeal. A special thanks goes out to Dr. Tina Burton who shed as many tears as did we. She is special and we thank her for her constant care of Karen.
