Karen Christine Gregerson Ashby

September 17, 1939 — October 1, 2016

Our beloved mother, sister, aunt, friend and "GA" as many knew her by, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home with her daughter Kris by her side. Karen was raised in Central, Utah and attended Monroe High School. After graduating she met her eternal partner, David Rudger Ashby, whom she married for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple on April 17, 1958. After seven years of marriage, they adopted their first son, Russell and then two years later they adopted their second child Kathryn. After eighteen years of marriage, they found out they were expecting a baby who was deemed a miracle as they were told they could not have any children of their own. Karen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many callings that she served with kindness and compassion as she truly enjoyed serving others and the Lord. Karen was a homemaker for many years and then returned to the workforce and worked for nineteen years at Intercontinental Hotel Group, where she made many lifelong friends. She is survived by her children, Russell Dane Ashby, Kathryn (Kathy) Ashby Reeves, Kristine (Kris) Beth Ashby; and her grandson, Jordan David Ashby. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Rudger Ashby; her parents; and many other loved ones. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016, 11:00 a.m., at the LDS Chapel, 1250 West Atherton Drive (4375 South). Viewings will be held Friday, October 7th, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and again Saturday prior to services at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
