Kathleen Diane Marks

Kathleen Diane Marks, 76, of Salt Lake City, passed away peacefully June 20th, surrounded by her children and family. This was preceded by an extended illness where she was nursed by her granddaughter Nicole Velasquez-Goble. Kathleen was born on October 30, 1941 in Indianapolis, IN to Lillian and Harry Ausderan. She has lived in the Salt Lake City area since 1981. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and Nascar. Also, over many years, Kathleen knitted hundreds of hats and scarves and donated them to local homeless shelters. One of her greatest joys was her "girl's" dates with her daughters. Kathleen was preceded in death by her son Donald Paul Schroeder in 2010. She is survived by her daughters Elizabeth Davis (Jack) of Ogden, and Kristine Velasquez (Jeff) of Magna; son Kent Schroeder (Kimberly) of West Valley City; sister Maxine Brown of Columbia City, IN; brothers Harry Ausderan of Maumee, OH, Paul Ausderan of Pierre, SD and Michael Ausderan of Salt Lake City, UT; 8 dear grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. As per Kathleen's wishes, there will be no service. Her ashes will be scattered in her favorite field of flowers. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
