Kay Lee Brinkerhoff

August 6, 1936 — November 7, 2016

Our loving husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa passed away on November 7, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Kay was born on August 6, 1936 in Virgin, Utah to William & Ella Brinkerhoff. He graduated from Hurricane High School in 1954 and then received his Associates Degree from Dixie College. While attending Dixie College, he met the love of his life Sharon Morris. Kay & Sharon were sealed together for time and all eternity on November 8, 1956. Kay loved the outdoors. He especially loved to hike in the Uintahs and work in his yard and garden. After retiring from 35 years at United Precision, where he did all the accounting, he and Sharon began traveling. He loved to share his latest adventure with others. He loved his church callings but he especially loved to teach the 11 year old scouts which involved many hikes. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters Janine Popelmayer, Diana (Steve) Carter, Suzanne (Dennis) Tulane; and son Scott. He was very proud of his grandchildren: Robyn, Chelsea, Krystin, Jenna, Nick, Laura, Trisha, Chrysta & Kayla. Preceded in death by his parents William & Ella Brinkerhoff; brother Chester; and sisters Clara Hall, Lula Maloney & Verna Brown. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2016, 10:00 a.m., at Taylorsville 19th Ward, 2030 Chateau Avenue. Viewings will be held Friday, Nov. 11th, 6-8:00 p.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and again prior to services Saturday at the church from 9-9:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
