Keith Fenton Farnworth

June 16, 1929 — June 4, 2018

Keith Fenton Farnworth was born on June 16, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William Byron and Alice Junetta Bates Farnworth. He died at his home on Jun 4, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness. Keith was tender-hearted, shy, responsible, fun, and hardworking. He taught his family the value of fairness, honesty, integrity, and good money management. Growing up during the Depression was hard and money was tight, so his brothers and neighborhood friends had to make their own fun. His children and grandchildren have enjoyed listening to him relate stories of his boyhood adventures, close calls, and mishaps. Keith served a mission for the LDS church in Northern California. He was also a proud United States Marine during the Korean war. During his time as a Marine, he witnessed an atom bomb test in the Nevada desert and shared with his family his fascinating eye-witness account of that day. Keith and Geraldine (Geri) Hansen met while attending BYU and were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 9, 1954. Geri was the love of his life for 59 years until she passed away 4 years ago. They shared a love for sports and attended BYU football and basketball games together for several years. Their relationship was especially sweet during their later years when Keith took care of Geri as she became increasingly incapacitated. Keith graduated from BYU in accounting and spent his career after college as an accountant and controller. He enjoyed making lists and crunching numbers. During his life, Keith also had numerous callings in the LDS church and served faithfully in every calling he was given. Keith took his children on many road trips through the years, which gave them fond memories and appreciation for history and the beauty of nature. In his later years, he and his family made more good memories "roughing it" at their cabin in Timberlakes, Utah. Keith is survived by his children Laurie (Blake) Beckstrom, Todd (Vicki) Farnworth, Janet (Terry) Robison, Angela (Dave) Hansen, Darin Farnworth (Bob Shurr), and Heidi (Craig) Christensen; 20 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Geri; and his three brothers Herschel, Lauren, and Sharell Farnworth. We extend our appreciation to Beehive Health, Brighton Home Hospice, and all his doctors and nurses for their loving care and support during his last days. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at the Bernina Chapel, 3045 W. Bernina Dr. Taylorsville, UT. Viewings will be held Friday, June 8th, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, and again prior to services Saturday at the church from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment will occur following the services at the Orem City Cemetery, Orem, UT.
