Born to Lynn Hoyt Heaton and Lydia Wilson
Preceded in death by wife, Beverly Jean Green and daughter, Carla Ann Heaton Hughes
Ken passed away at home surrounded by his family. After working at Kennecott Copper, he started his own business, Heaton Roofing. Father and sons worked well together for many years.
Ken served in the House of Representatives as well as in the U.S. Navy in WWII. He loved to dance and play cards. He participated in sports in his youth and enjoyed watching them later in life. (BYU)
Ken devoted his life serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a Stake Mission President, in several Bishoprics and as Bishop. He was on the High Council, a member of the Stake Presidency, and as a Stake Patriarch. Ken and Beverly served in the Dearborn Michigan Mission, and Ken and Iris served in the South Salt Lake Mission as well as serving in several temples.
Ken was a strong leader his whole life for his family and friends.
Survived by wife, Iris Olsen Heaton and that marriage successfully blended their families. Ken Lynn (Sherie) Heaton, Kathleen (Dan) Brammer, Dennis (Jane) Heaton, Gaylen (Kathy) Heaton, Maureen (Daryl) Olsen, Roy (Shanna) Merrell, David (Eria) Merrell, Rebecca (Greg) Peterson, Jennifer (Scott) Hendricks, 45 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and younger brother Gerry (Kaye) Heaton.
A viewing will be held Sunday evening, March 10th, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road in Taylorsville and on March 11th, 10:00 a.m. at the Ensign Stake Center 135 A Street, followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to thank the Intermountain Hospice Staff, especially Dennis and Padro for their excellent care and love they gave to Ken and the family.
