Kenneth Dan Gardner

Kenneth Dan Gardner passed away peacefully at home on December 9, 2017. He was surrounded by many who loved him and many more waiting to welcome him on. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 29,1943, the third of four children to Geneva Ames Gardner and Clarence Lewis Gardner. He joined the US Navy at the age of seventeen in 1960 until 1964 then reenlisted two years later until retiring in 1983 with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. During this time in 1965 he married Lois Lynn Roberts, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo Temple in 1974 and raised six children together. After retiring from the Navy, Ken worked for 23 years for the US Government as an inspector for the Department of Defense. He permanently retired in 2008. Ken was an active member of the LDS church, taking every calling giving to him without question and putting everything he had into it. From primary teacher to group high priest leader, he loved them all. But above all else, Ken loved his family most and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. He also loved fishing, working in his garden and in his later years, just sitting on the back porch and enjoying the fresh air. He is survived by his wife Lois Lynn; children; Terisa Burdorf (Rod), Michael Gardner, Deanna Plock (Kasey), Ryan Gardner (Terri) and Jennifer Gardner; grandchildren; Michael, Krystal, Sasha, Logan, Conner, Alaina and Aubrey; great-grandchildren; Karson, Keif and Qyrie; and uncle David Gardner (Joyce). Preceded in death by his parents; sister Juanita; brother Bud; and his daughter Kimberly Ann. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 15, 2017, 1:00 pm at the LDS church, 5176 West Parr Drive (8540 S.), West Jordan, Utah.
