Kenneth E. Ryan 1932 ~ 2012 Kenneth E. Ryan, 80, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, from natural causes. Ken was born in San Bernardino, California on May 9, 1932 to Wallace and Rose Ryan. The family moved shortly after his birth and he grew up in Castle Dale, Utah. Ken was an Eagle Scout with three palms. Ken was sealed for eternity to Sally Sitterud in the Manti Temple on June 16, 1953. Ken graduated from the University of Utah. He completed the ROTC program at the University of Utah and soon after graduating joined the United States Air Force. He remained in the Air Force for 22 years and retired as a Lt. Colonel. Ken and Sally spent time in Nevada, France, Minnesota, Texas, Hawaii, Virginia, and Germany during their time in the military. After retiring from the Air Force, Ken and Sally moved to Utah to embark on a second career working for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spent 20 years with the church before retiring. They then moved to Sterling, Utah to enjoy their retired years. Ken also served the city of Sterling during his time there. Ken and Sally served a LDS Mission to New Zealand as Family History Coordinators. Sally had a stroke seven years ago and Ken spent the remaining years of his life giving devoted service to Sally. Ken has filled many church assignments over the years including Group Leader in France; Branch President in Texas, two times as a Bishop (Virginia and Utah) and the Stake High Council. He also loved to teach and share his testimony. Ken spent over thirty years working in the Swiss, Salt Lake, Jordan River, Manti, and Mesa Temples. Ken is survived by his wife Sally, son Michael (Joyce) Ryan, son Larry (Lynette) Ryan, daughter Michelle (Woody) Campbell, daughter Kenlynne (Glynn) Ralph, son Toby (Emily) Ryan, sister Mary Lou (Tom) Ott, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth (Don) Wayman, daughter Rachelle Ryan, and granddaughter Jessica Ryan. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 29, 2012, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, with a viewing 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral.
