Kenneth Floyd Timothy 1928 ~ 2013 Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, peacefully passed away March 23, 2013 at his home with many family members at his side. Floyd was born August 1, 1928 to Ornon and Nellie Timothy in Bingham, Utah and raised in Roosevelt, Utah, moving back to Bingham when he was young. His parents, two sisters and four brothers preceded him in death. After graduating from Bingham High School, and serving our country as an Army Paratrooper, he married his beautiful wife, Virginia Smith September 1948 in Bingham; they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple September 1974. They have one daughter, Kathy (Brad) Higley; five sons, Randy (Kris), Gary, Brent (Jenny), Troy (Shelley) and Tracy (Karen); 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren. Dad was a fun loving man who enjoyed socializing and being around people of all ages. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Bishop and Counselor in two different Stake Presidencies and on the High Council. He is remembered as a very compassionate but fun Bishop. Even though he had never played baseball himself, Dad enjoyed coaching Little League for 13 years. He served in Scouts for over 25 years and was awarded the Silver Beaver and George Meany Awards. Floyd served as the IAMA Union Secretary/Treasurer for many years. He worked 46 years for Kennecott Copper, starting on the track gang at 16, and retired as a Master Mechanic. Dad enjoyed working in his garden, growing beautiful roses and tomatoes. He belonged to the UTE RC Association spending countless hours building and flying airplanes. Both Dad and Mom enjoyed the many trips to Alaska visiting with family, seeing the sights and going fishing. We would like to thank the staff of Rocky Mountain Care Hospice for all the care and support they have given to my husband and family. Floyd will be greatly missed by both family and friends. He loved his family and brightened all of our lives with his big smile and loud laughter. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren will never forget his fun jokes, teasing and pranks. We have all learned to love life from this wonderful man. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013, 12:00 noon at the Kearns Central Stake, 5415 South 4575 West.
