On Father's Day, June 16, 2024, Kenneth Worley Leishman, Jr. returned home to his Father in Heaven. Ken was born on August 5, 1944, in Murray, Utah to Kenneth Worley Sr. and Dorothy Leishman. He also had two siblings, Larry Leishman and Irene Leishman. Ken resided in Murray, Utah for the majority of his life, but grew up in Salt Lake City where he attended and graduated from Granite High School.
Ken loved the outdoors and spent any free time he had camping and fishing. He loved to talk about old cars, old westerns, and to watch sports, 'especially college football', on TV. He was a hard worker and had a great sense of humor. He would always make a difficult task seem easy. Most of his career was spent at the Kennecott mines where he drove the big haul trucks.
Ken married Diane Robbins in 197l. She was the love of his life. It gives us peace in knowing that after 20 years of missing her dearly that they have finally been reunited. He is also preceded in death by his son, Brian Leishman.
Since that time, Ken spent many hours with a close friend named Margie. Margie filled his life with many wonderful times, and we are grateful he had her companionship.
Ken was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his faith and enjoyed his callings throughout the years.
We want to send a special thanks to Kelly Lim, a niece who lovingly cared for Ken for many years. We also want to thank Legacy House in Taylorsville for their care during the final months of Ken's Life.
There will be a graveside service honoring Ken and his life at the Murray City Cemetery, 5490 South Vine Street, Murray, Utah on Friday, June 28, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM.
