Kenneth Rae Farnsworth, born March 29, 1931 in Garfield County, Utah, passed away at the age of 86 on July 23, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born to Hugh Asa and Araminta Goulding Farnsworth, joining brothers Hugh and Gordon, and sisters Dora and Agatha, all of whom have preceded him. He is survived by his wife, Maria Teresa Farnsworth; children Kenney, Susan, Rochelle, Michael, Dana, Troy, Paul, Branda, Rebecca and Stephen; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ken was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, strong in his belief of the Gospel and Jesus Christ as his Savior. He loved Sundays, the scriptures, his family, hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved horses and being outdoors. He loved to share his knowledge of the Church, especially the scriptures, and to tell stories to anyone who would listen. His favorite meal was a crispy chicken salad with extra croutons, two packages of ranch dressing, fries and a drink from Burger King. Ken shared his love of horses with many youth, especially in the Riverside 2nd Ward where he lived for many years and enjoyed many friendships. Ken was an active participant in the Utah Senior Olympics for several years, where he won many medals in track and field events until his health deteriorated and his feet were amputated due to diabetes. In spite of being legally blind and very hard of hearing, he loved the St. George and Manti temples and spent much of his time reading the scriptures. His dog, Buddy, was his constant companion. Ken didn't care where he lived as long as he was with Buddy. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 28, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South.
