Kerry Bertelsen

June 24, 1957 — January 1, 2025

Kerry Cecil Bertelsen, a caring father, grandfather, husband, brother, and friend passed away on January 1, 2025.

Kerry was born in Spanish Fork and raised in West Valley City. He was an mechanical engineer for Blanchard Metals; he worked there for almost 50 years, and retired in March of 2024.

He was a true handyman that could fix anything including electrical, heating, plumbing, and automobiles.

Kerry, a man his word, would sacrifice many hours of his life to provide for his family. He was a tremendous father and grandpa that wanted nothing more than spending time with his family members. He supported his children through any life event and never asked for anything in return.

He was a big New England Patriots fan and was always happy to gloat during their dynasty years. He was an outdoor man who enjoyed grilling, camping, off-roading, fishing, and spending time in the wilderness with his family. During most of his vacation days he would pack up his big chevy blazer and head to the desert with his family for some R and R.

Kerry loved spending time with his boys, teaching them outdoor activities, fishing, shooting, catching lizards, and basic survival skills.

Kerry is survived by his children Jennifer Gallloway, Easton (Ciara) Bertelsen; grandchildren, Schuyley Cruz, Mikaila Pierce, and Ezekiel Bertelsen.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 10, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville.
