Kerry Lynn Gilley

Kerry L. Gilley 1977 ~ 2012 Beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, Kerry Lynn Gilley, returned to his Heavenly Father March 30, 2012, at home, of leukemia. He was surrounded by his loving wife, daughters, parents, brothers and sister; Maria s parents, sisters and brother; other family members and numerous dear friends. He was born December 13, 1977 to Keith C. and Kathy Pool Gilley. Married Maria Walton May 22, 2004. Kerry loved his wife and two daughters, and providing for them. He also loved spending time with family and friends, working out, lifting weights, skiing, camping, playing cards, football and was a lifelong Chicago Bears fan. Kerry is survived by his devoted wife who provided exceptional, loving care for him throughout his trial. Kerry fought leukemia with courage, never complaining, enduring multiple rounds of chemotherapy, full body radiation and a bone marrow transplant. He had a strong desire to stay here with his family but accepted God s will in all things. Kerry is also survived by his daughters Ashlan and Peyton; parents; brothers Kory (Wendy), Kody (Tangie); sister Kelly Gilley-Christensen; grandmothers Ruth Gilley and Rhea Pool; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. Kerry and his family will forever be grateful for his devoted friends, Jason, Josh, Mark Keith and Bam who were always there for him and held fund raisers that helped him and his family. Also for the management and employees at Kennecott Copper refinery who did so much for him in providing two Christmases, food drives and financial help. There were many other family members and friends who were so supportive and Kerry appreciated it very much. As a family we thank the doctors, nurses, aides and staff at St. Mark s Hospital and Huntsman Cancer Institute for their efforts and compassionate care of Kerry. To honor Kerry please become a bone marrow donor. Kerry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and we know we will see and be with Kerry again ~ but until then, we will miss him so much. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 5, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at the Jordan Stake Center, 4700 South 3676 West. Viewings will be held Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Thursday at the church, 11:30-12:45 p.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
