Kori Ann DaBell

November 13, 1968 — March 21, 2018

Beloved wife, mother, sister and friend Kori Ann Thurman DaBell passed away unexpectedly on March 21, 2018 after a sudden illness.

She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 13, 1968.

Kori was so creative, had a wonderful sense of humor, and was always up for any adventure. Her passing has left a tremendous void, but her family and friends have many wonderful memories to help ease their sorrow.

The members of the Cyprus High School dance company might enjoy reminiscing about the many routines that she "Kori"-ographed. She continued to enjoy dance throughout her life until she was forced to hang up her dancing shoes due to chronic back pain.

As a customer service representative for Delta Airlines, she improved the travel experience for many people. Kori also made good use of Delta's flight benefits. She took her girls to California's beaches, Disneyland, and Georgia every chance they got and even flew them to Hawaii for a day of snorkeling.

Her next career adventure was at SkyWest Airlines. Kori's vivacious personality brightened many training sessions and she injected her own brand of humor into the company newsletters. She also used her creative writing skills as a freelance writer for the Magna Times.

Kori and Jeff chose to be business partners as well as life partners so they took over the Hungry Bear Bake Shoppe. She left the corporate world to become the "cookie lady" and developed her own signature frosting swirl. The Hungry Bear was well known for making Utah's best sugar cookie which they sold locally in the restaurant and farmers' markets. Kori had such a warm and sweet way of interacting with others that anyone who came in contact with her walked away with a smile. Kori was right at home working at the bake shoppe because she had the biggest sweet tooth. Her favorite food was candy and she could always be counted on to have a treat in her purse.

Kori and Jeff's most recent adventure was crisscrossing the country in a semi-truck with Jeff as the driver, Kori as the navigator, and their dog Khaleesi as their faithful companion. She posted lots of pictures and many humorous observations so that we could all share in their adventures.

Kori was so thrilled at the prospect of becoming a first-time grandmother. She is probably singing and dancing in Heaven right now with her little grandbaby whose birth is expected in the next two weeks. Her family takes some comfort in knowing that she is now pain-free and at peace.

She is survived by her husband Jeff, her daughters Karli (husband Jordan Valdivia), Lacey (husband Austin Memmott), and Jocelyn (boyfriend Josh Erikson). Also survived by siblings Steve Thurman, Janet Norman, and Vicki Thurman, and beloved niece Amanda Thurman and nephews Andrew and Alex Norman.

Preceded in death by her parents, Douglas J. and Verleene "Beanie" Thurman, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
