Laraine Beardall Southworth, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Mt Olympus Rehabilitation Center, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born April 30, 1933 in Springville, Utah to Kenneth Willis and Edith (Humphries) Beardall. She grew up in Springville, Utah, with the exception of two short years during WWII when her family moved to Portland Oregon, with her three brothers and sister. She met the love of her life, Mark L. Southworth, at a church ice cream social and after a brief courtship solemnized their marriage in the St. George Temple. Together they raised their family in Provo, Dugway, Terra, Salt Lake City, Seoul, Korea, Makakilo, Hawaii, Sandy, and Taylorsville. She was an epic homemaker, accomplished seamstress, literary scholar, pilot, photographer and served honorably in a wide variety of church callings throughout her life. She loved to read and passed her love of literature down through her children. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Mark Southworth; her son Andre (Judy) Southworth; brother Keith. Left to honor Laraine and remember her love are her brothers Darwin (Barbara) Beardall, Gordon (Joan) Beardall; sister Tonna (Charles) Geldmacher; and children Christine Southworth, Kerry Southworth, Alaine (Rich) Grieser, Yvonne (James) Ware, Sean Southworth, Djinni (Mike) Yancey, and Jan (Scott) Longman; 35 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, 16 June 2016 at 1 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S.
