Larry Pugmire passed from this life Friday morning, May 7th at the age of 84.
He was born on his father’s birthday, September 10, 1936, in St. Charles, Idaho to William Ray and Elva Rich Pugmire. He was the youngest of 10 children.
He lived in St. Charles, caring for his widowed mother until the age of 17. He then moved to Salt Lake City.
His career was centered in the trucking industry, working for numerous companies mostly in management positions. He was well respected and known for his hard work and integrity.
He met Karen Anderson, the love of his life and they were married in June of 1956. Together, they made a life that included three children, Kim, Brett and Karie. He was a quiet, good and kind man who worked hard to provide for his family, many times more than one job. His family was always his priority.
Through all his health struggles, if you asked how he was doing, he would say “I’m okay”, or I’ll be okay. His influence will be missed immensely in our lives, but we know we “will be okay”.
Larry is survived by his faithful wife of nearly 65 years, Karen; children, Kim Anderton (Steve), Brett Pugmire (Cindy), and Karie Pugmire; four grandchildren, Jared & Katie Anderton, Colby Pugmire (Aimee), Jessica Love (Aaron); 7 great-grandchildren; and his loving brother Vaughn Pugmire. He is preceded in death by his parents; 8 siblings; and daughter-in-law Tammy Pugmire.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 14, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at St. Charles Cemetery, St. Charles, Idaho. A viewing will be held Thursday, May 13th, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road.
