Larry Wayne King was born on October 11, 1954, and passed away on June 23, 2014. He is survived by his daughter, Sierra King; granddaughter, MaKenna Hage; parents, Wayne and Karen King; brothers, Jim and Kenneth King, and their families; and his loving dog, Boo. Larry was a decorated member of the Marine Special Forces serving his country from 1973 to 1979. He received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Rifle Expert Award, Pistol Expert Award, and was honorably discharged. Larry was a well respected Wild Land Firefighter and trainer. He worked in the ski business throughout his life, starting in the early 80's at Snowbasin Ski Resort. Most recently he worked for many years at Doppelmayr USA, a Ski Lift Manufacturing company, in the electrical department. His favorite part of the job was the field work, enjoying all the different places he was able to travel. He was a mechanic for 30+ years. He had a passion for working on vehicles and everyone could depend on him for help with their auto repairs. Larry was a very caring individual. He was always willing to help anyone. He was a good friend, and had a lot of them. He absolutely loved his Ford Bronco, listening to music, and watching a good war movie. He enjoyed the outdoors camping, hunting, and spending time in the mountains. He was stubborn as a mule and will be missed dearly by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him and caring for him. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. atUtah Veteran's Memorial Park,17111 S. Redwood Road, Bluffdale, Utah.
