LaVern Meyer

LaVern Meyer, age 84, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Central Utah Veteran's Home in Payson, UT from natural causes. LaVern was born to Emil John Meyer and Alice Minnie Schultz Meyer on December 5, 1929 in DuBois, NE. He married Anne Helen Erickson July 1, 1958 in Evanston, WY. LaVern proudly served his country through 20 years of military service in the US Navy. After retiring in 1970, he worked an additional 20 years for the US Postal Service. LaVern was preceded in death by his wife, Anne, of 43 years; brothers Raymond, Emil, and Willard. He is survived by brother Arthur Emil, Clinton, UT; sister, Lauretta Stout Day, Medicine Bow, WY; his three sons - LaVern Jr (Rochelle) of Payson, UT; Raymond Leslie of Montgomery Village, MD; and Allen Ross of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014, 10 a.m. in the chapel of Utah Veterans Memorial Park at Camp Williams, located at 17800 S Camp Williams Rd. Interment, Utah Veteran's Memorial Park, 17111 S Camp Williams Rd, Bluffdale, UT. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
