Lawrence R White (Larry) was reunited with the love of his life, Deanna, on Monday August 2, 2021.
Larry was the second child of five for Lawrence T and Marie White. Born on October 18, 1943. He was married to Evelyn Deanna Shingleton on May 8th 1964. A few years later he served the US Army in Vietnam. His time in combat affected him throughout his life with PTSD and helped to shape the person he was. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, he held many different occupations in construction, auto mechanics, and school and hospital maintenance.
April 1974 he and his love had a baby boy. Larry was a dedicated husband and father, who chose to work many hours to help provide a good life for his family. He loved his work as head of Maintenance at Primary Children’s Hospital and would often go in early, stay late and work holidays so others didn’t have to, and would buy something extra for his family. He liked to go shooting, camping, bowling, mountain man rendezvous and generally being with his brothers or sisters. He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies and NCIS Los Angeles.
Due to back issues suffered because of exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam and other decisions, he was forced to medically retire around the age of 42. It was at this time that Bishop Perkins in Woods Cross befriended him and would just come and talk. After a while Larry adjusted his life and was married for all time and eternity to his sweetheart on the August 16, 1990 in the Salt Lake Temple. Larry became a dutiful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints holding several positions and attending the temple regularly with his wife.
He gained a daughter on January 11, 1996 when his son married Cheryl Lynn Kramer. Together they gave Larry and Deanna four amazing grandchildren who became the center of their lives. They loved to attend any game they could; Soccer, Football, basketball, spelling bee, etc. Together they would take their grandsons to events like the Manti pageant or plays at Tuacahn in St George, movies or even their first Frontrunner and Trax ride.
Larry lost the love of his life on December 24, 2017 and has wanted to be with her again ever since. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Larry and Marie, sister, DeLois, Brother-in-law (Derl) and wife, Deanna and a few nephews and nieces. Larry is survived by his son, Lawrence, daughter-in-law, Cheryl his four grandchildren, Brayden (Kennedy), Chase (Kiersten), Jaxon and Landon, a great grandchild, Grayson. Siblings; Doyle, Shirlene, and Bryan. Brother-in-law; Kevin Shingleton (Cheryl) among many nephews and nieces.
