Leonardo Chavez Cabrera

Leonardo Chavez passed away peacefully with his family around him on February 1, 2023.

He is preceded in death by his mother & father Rosa Maria & Gregorio Chavez & his two sons, Elmer Chavez & Edwin Chavez.He leaves his wife Delia Esther Chavez, Elmer's wife Elena, Blanca Rosa Chavez, Delia Mirtha (Miguel) Farronay, & William Leonardo (Bernadette) Chavez. He also leaves his grandchildren Manuel, Maria, Melanie (Jon), Miguel, Martin, Sebastian & Mia.

Leonardo was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He was born in Cajamarca Peru where his love of planting trees, enjoying gardening, nature, and going on walks started.

He loved to laugh with his family and always enjoyed a good joke and teasing his family. Food is an important part of the Peruvian culture and he loved to enjoy good food. He loved to travel and create memories with his family. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it and was a great companion on any adventure. He loved to spend time with his family and will be missed immensely.

A funeral service for Leonardo will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Murray Second Ward, 363 East Vine Street, Murray, Utah. Viewings will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023, 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah, and again Wednesday , 10:00 am - 10:45 am at the church.

Leonardo Chávez falleció con su familia a su alrededor el 1 de febrero de 2023.

Le preceden en muerte su madre y padre Rosa María y Gregorio Chavez y sus dos hijos, Elmer Chavez y Edwin Chavez.  Deja a su esposa Delia Esther Chavez, la esposa de Elmer Elena, Blanca Rosa Chavez, Delia Mirtha (Miguel) Farronay y William Leonardo (Bernadette) Chavez.  Deja a sus nietos Manuel, María, Melanie (Jon), Miguel, Martín, Sebastián y Mia.

Leonardo fue un miembro fiel de La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días.

Nació en Cajamarca Perú donde comenzó su amor por plantar árboles, disfrutar de la jardinería, la naturaleza y las caminatas.

Le encantaba reírse con su familia y siempre disfrutaba de una buena broma y burlarse de su familia. La comida es una parte importante de la cultura peruana y le encantaba disfrutar de la buena comida. Le encantaba viajar y crear recuerdos con su familia. Siempre estaba dispuesto a ayudar a quien lo necesitara y era un gran compañero en cualquier aventura. Le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia y lo extrañaremos inmensamente.

El funeral de Leonardo se llevará a cabo el miércoles 8 de febrero de 2023 en Murray Second Ward, 363 East Vine Street, Murray, Utah. Las visitas se llevarán a cabo el martes 7 de febrero de 2023, de 6:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m. en McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah, y nuevamente el miércoles, de 10:00 a. m. a 10:45 a. m. en la iglesia.
