LeRoy F. Jacquez

July 12, 1947 — April 22, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and so much love that we mourn the passing of LeRoy Federico Jacquez, who entered into eternal rest on April 22, 2025, at the age of 77, in West Jordan, Utah surrounded by his loving family.

LeRoy was born on July 12, 1947, in Gallina, New Mexico to Jose D. Jacquez and Patrocinia Chavez. He grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico and at the age of 17, his family moved to Payson, Utah where he graduated from Payson High School in 1966. At 31, LeRoy met the love of his life, Eva Sanchez, and they were married on May 10, 1980. Together, they raised a beautiful - and wonderfully loud - family of six.

LeRoy was known for his unwavering faith, deep devotion to his children and grandchildren, and his great love for his puppies and extended family. He cherished time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping at the family property with his kids, grandkids, nephews, and cousins. He retired from ATK after 31 years of dedicated service. In his later years, he found great joy in caring for his grandchildren, creating lasting memories - especially cooking his famous "papas and eggs" breakfast.

A devout Catholic, LeRoy was committed to attending daily Mass and praying the Rosary whenever he could. He was proud to be a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, serving faithfully in various roles within his parish.

LeRoy is lovingly remembered and survived by his beloved wife Eva, and their cherished children: Peggy (Roberto), Jaclyn, Macheala, Joseph (Brooke), and Deidre; and his treasured grandchildren: Angelina, Constance, Roberto Jr., and Mia. He is also survived by his sister and brother, along with many extended family members and friends who were blessed by his kindness, humor, and faith-filled life.

Upon his passing, LeRoy was joyfully reunited in Heaven with his parents, his mother-in-law, four beloved sisters, one brother, and his dearly missed son Jeremy.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 6:00-7:30 PM at McDougal Funeral Home (4330 S Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah), followed by the praying of the Rosary at 7:30 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, beginning with Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church (4914 South 2200 West, Taylorsville, Utah), followed by interment at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery (275 "U" Street, Salt Lake City, Utah). A luncheon will follow in the parish hall of St. Martin de Porres.

All who knew and loved LeRoy are welcome to attend and celebrate his beautiful life.

"How lucky are we to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."
