LeVear Hone passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Heritage Center in American Fork. He was born on Easter Sunday, March 29, 1925, to Alvin R. and Chloe Timothy Hone in Bingham Canyon Utah. He married Kathleen Isbell on August 20, 1950. She was the love of his life; they were married 60 years before Kathleen passed away on September 27, 2010. LeVear joined the US Navy in 1943 and served in the Marshall Islands until the end of the war when he was transferred to Oakland, California until he was discharged in 1946. LeVear worked many years in the grocery business for various stores in Utah. After he left the grocery business, he owned and operated LeVear's service station in Bountiful and Centerville. LeVear was a very civic minded person. He regularly attended Rose Park community council meetings, was a member of Lion's Club International for 60+ years holding various leadership positions in the Rose Park Lion's Club. He was a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. LeVear is survived by two sons Bruce L (Janet) Hone and Russell K Hone (Heather Develyn), 7 grandchildren: Wendi Herron, Brandie Bell, Penni Barry, Sherri Borders, Lynn Hone, Tracy Hone, Travis Hone; and 10 great grandchildren; brothers Ercill "Lucky" and Bernell Hone. Preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Kathleen; and great grandchild Gracie Bell Nielson. Graveside services will be held Monday, April 28, 2014, 11:30 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City, Utah. There will be a viewing Sunday, April 27, 2014, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
