Lewis A. Bass returned to his Heavenly Father and Savior on January 13, 2017. He was born on December 23, 1936 to Harold Arthur and Elma Lee Bass. He grew up in Ogden, Utah. After his graduation from Ogden High School, he joined the Navy. He served on the aircraft carrier Lexington in the Korean War. Shortly after his release from the Navy, he met his eternal companion, Eleanor Larsen. Lewis told her on their first date he was going to marry her and on November 20, 1959, they were married in the Logan Temple. Together they welcomed three children into their home, Lewis Harold (Paula), Melanie Jill (David), and Todd Wilford (Linda). He had a love for all electronics and spent his career in that field eventually retiring from the F.A.A. and Harris Co. As a member of the LDS Church, he served valiantly in many capacities. His favorite callings were ward clerk, executive secretary and working in the Jordan River Temple. Lewis loved good music, ballroom dancing, camping, traveling, and always hamburgers! He is survived by his wife; children; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 brother; and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister. Thanks go out to Inspiration Hospice, especially to Shane, Luis, and Dottie as well as to all the care givers who helped him in his last months. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at the Hunter Village Ward, 6400 West 3500 South, where a viewing will be held prior to services from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment, Taylorsville City Cemetery.
