Liezle Anne Broadhead Stephensen passed away peacefully at her home in Layton, Utah, on Friday, September 30, 2016, at the age of 35. Her time among us is over and she is at peace, in the company of her older brother, a grandmother, and a grandfather, who have preceded her in death. Liezle was born April 14, 1981, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Jesse Dan Broadhead and Rebecca Carol Barth. Liezle gave 110% to everything that she did. She had four complete passions in her life: her husband and soul-mate Dan, whom she loved deeply; her cosplay friends; her career as a Nurse Practitioner; and helping others, which she demonstrated in everything she did. Liezle met Dan Stephensen through a mutual friend, and they instantly knew they would be soul-mates. They were recently married August 4, 2016, in Midvale, Utah, and planned to renew their vows in Maui this October. Although brief, their relationship and marriage provided the love that both had looked for their entire lives. As a cosplayer, she spent many long hours preparing her costumes, and was a member of the Gears of War 26th RTI Group, and would attend as many Sci-Fi and Fantasy conventions she could get to. She once convinced her parents to dress up and attend with her. She loved the newborn babies she worked with in the NICU in several valley hospitals, but her true nursing passion was as a nurse in the field of Fertility, which she began as a Registered Nurse, and returned to as a Nurse Practitioner after receiving a Doctorate in Nursing from the University of Utah. She would beam with pride and joy, when she would tell her friends and family that I got a woman pregnant today. She joked about changing her last name to Pepper, so that people would have to call her Dr. Pepper. Her husband, her parents and younger brother Nikolas Broadhead, many cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents, and all those who knew and loved her, will miss her dearly. Liezle, prepare the way for us, until our own journey is through, when we will be together again. May we live our lives with enthusiasm and joy, as you did yours. A viewing will be held Friday October 7, 2016, from 6:00-8:00 pm, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah, and on Saturday October 8, from 10:30-11:30 am, at the Wasatch 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 8170 South Shorthills Drive (3425 East), Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
