Linda Forbes Crowther

Linda Forbes Crowther, born March 13, 1953, in Seattle, Washington, passed away October 31, 2013, at her home in Park City, Utah. She passed peacefully in her sleep after battling pancreatic cancer since March 2013. Linda was the beloved daughter of Homer and Alene Forbes, wife of Robert "Bud" Crowther, mother of five children, and "Nana" to 10 grandkids. She is a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in various leadership capacities. Linda and Bud were married in the Salt Lake City temple on April 9, 1976. They moved to Park City in 1979, where they have since resided and where Linda worked as an elementary school teacher for the Park City School District for 32 years. Linda was the oldest of seven children, and grew up all over the United States. Linda and Bud met at BYU. Together, they have taught school, traveled, raised children, rode horses, and served their community. Throughout her years of teaching and parenting, Linda could be found at athletic games, competitions, concerts and recitals. She rarely missed an event of her five active children. During her career as an educator, Linda taught elementary grades including 2nd through 4th. She is famous for her Utah history lessons and projects, and putting learning to music. In recent years, Linda taught music at Trailside Elementary School. She has spent countless hours enlightening and touching the lives of thousands of children. She is survived by her parents, Homer and Alene Forbes; husband, Bud; her five children, Callee Walker, Chad Crowther, Jenae Attridge, Todd Crowther, and Wade Crowther (currently serving a full-time mission for the LDS church in Buenos Aires, Argentina); 10 grandchildren; and her 6 younger siblings, Steven Forbes, Carolene Cook, Suzanne Roberts, Margaret Gibson, David Forbes, and Julee Koplin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, at the LDS Park City Stake Center, 2300 Monitor Dr., Park City, Utah, with a viewing at 9:00 a.m.. Burial follows the funeral at the Midway Cemetery in Midway, Utah.
