Linda "Lou" Lambert passed away peacefully January 8, 2024, age 65, surrounded by her siblings at Jordan Valley Hospital. She is the daughter of Fred and Kathryn Lambert born January 22, 1958, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Linda was born with intellectual and physical limitations, having a club foot and hips out of joint at birth. Linda's parents also began to suspect problems with her mental development at one year of age.
As a child, Linda attended special education classes through Hillsdale Elementary, Vista Elementary, Arcadia, and Hartvigsen School. During her final years of schooling, she participated in a work training experience at Deseret Industries. She continued to work there for the next 12 years. During her time at Hillcrest Care Center, she worked at Life Skills Vocation Center where she participated in various recycling projects.
Linda enjoyed watching Disney movies and musicals on DVD, making crafts, word searches, and challenging family members to "puzzle races." She loved to tease and had a great sense of humor.
Linda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and when still at home was called to be ward choir secretary. It was her responsibility to call choir members and remind them to attend choir practices. She fulfilled her calling faithfully.
The family would like to thank Hillcrest Care Center in Sandy, Utah; Wide Horizons Residential Care in Ogden, Utah; and West Jordan Care Center in West Jordan, Utah, for their love and kindness to Linda over the years.
Linda is survived by two brothers, Gary Lambert and Douglas Lambert; three sisters, Kara McKean, Vicki Hinckley, and Renee Schiffler, along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Kathryn Lambert, and sisters, Kathleen Lambert and Sherri Lambert.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at Hillsdale Park Ward, 3274 South Hillsdale Drive, West Valley City, Utah on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 9:00-9:45 am. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am. Interment is at Valley View Memorial Park at 11:15 pm.
