Linda was born on December 4, 1950 in Climax, Saskatchewan, Canada and she passed away peacefully at the age of 71 at home in Utah on May 15, 2022. She was the victim of a massive stroke in May of 2021.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Joe Shaw who lives in Utah; her sons, Brian Shaw and Michael (Ashlee) Shaw; and her daughter Erin (Joseph) Jacquart, all of whom live in Utah. She is also survived by her siblings; Phyllis (Jim) Fitzpatrick of Montana, Cheryl (Bill) Thompson of Nevada and Miles (Linda) Hutton of Montana. She was preceded in death by her sister Karalee (Tim) McCoy. She had several nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
Linda and Joe have six grandchildren and Linda doted on all of them. She was never as happy as when her kids and grandkids were around her. She just loved being “Mom” and “Grammie.”
She was a Certified Nursing Assistant for 16 years at St. Josephs Villa in Salt Lake City, Utah. She loved working with and helping her residents there.
She was a devoted member of the Disciples of Christ at Central Christian Church in Salt Lake City, Utah and the Granger Christian Church in West Valley City, Utah. She served as a Deaconess for the church and was involved with the Christian Women’s Fellowship.
Linda was raised and grew up in northeastern Montana and was a rancher’s daughter. She always enjoyed getting on her white horse (technically called a “grey”) and riding on the prairies of Montana. She went to Nursing Schools in Montana before getting married to her husband Joe and having children. When her children were old enough, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) because she loved working with patients.
She had a full head of red hair and Joe often called her “My Little Red-Haired Girl” after the Peanuts cartoon character.
