Lloyd Earl Arbon

May 10, 1932 — June 19, 2016

On June 19, 2016, Father's Day, Lloyd Earl Arbon, 84, surrounded by his family, peacefully returned home to his Father in Heaven after a long battle with cancer. The only son, Lloyd was born in Ogden, Utah to Vernon Lawrence & Edith Marie Arbon on May 10, 1932. He served in the Army during the Korean War followed by a LDS mission to the Gulf States. On September 13, 1956, Lloyd married his sweetheart and Eternal Companion, JoAnn Staker Arbon in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. They raised their six children in Taylorsville, Utah. Lloyd attended BYU where he received a Masters of Industrial Education and taught Industrial Arts for Granite School District for 30 years and at the LDS Business College for 10. Once retired, Lloyd and JoAnn served three full-time LDS missions together. Lloyd also served in the Jordan River Temple for 25 years. Lloyd dedicated his life to the service of his family, fellow men, and the Savior. Lloyd is survived by his wife; six children, Linda (Steve) Phillips, David (Alese) Arbon, Scott (Marla) Arbon, Brad (Michelle) Arbon, LoyAnn Arbon and Erin (Fa'a) Apelu; his three sisters; 29 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 24, 10:00 a.m., at Paradise LDS Ward, 1555 W. Lovely Road (5095 S). Viewings will be held Thursday, June 23, 6-8:00 p.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and again Friday prior to services at the church from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Interment, Teton City Cemetery, Teton, Idaho.
