A beautiful lady returned to our Heavenly Father October 27, 2014. Loa Jean Simmons Mills Collings was born October 19, 1924 to Nymphas Nephi and Edna McDonald Simmons in Castle Gate, UT. She married Chester Mills May 14, 1943; they were sealed March 21, 1963 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They had two children, Linda and Craig. Chester passed away in April of 1988. Loa Jean married the second love of her life, Fredrick Collings, June 19, 1992. Our lovely mother, grandmother, aunt and friend instilled a great love of family in her children and grandchildren. She was a shining example of unconditional love and acceptance. She was feisty, fun, stubborn, and a SkipBo champion. She brought light to any situation and her humor and kindness remained with her until the very end. Loa Jean loved genealogy and temple work. She magnified many callings in the LDS Church. Board and card games were a favorite pass time with her grandchildren and she loved to travel. She worked as the Operations Officer at First Security Bank for many years. She retired from this position in 1985. Loa Jean leaves a great posterity. She is preceded in death by her parents; 7 siblings; son Craig Mills; and her dear husbands Chet Mills and Fred Collings. She is survived by her children Linda (Neil) Anderson; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Fred's children, David (Marcia ) Collings, Allen (Lana) Collings, Eloise (Wayne) Maglbey and Craig (Kathy) Collings; 19 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her long time best friend Frankie (Roger) Dick, as well as so many other friends and family members whose lives she touched.
