Lois Wimmer

December 28, 1944 — November 6, 2023

LOIS FAYE DUDLEY LeMON WIMMER, age 78, died on November 6, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born in Salt Lake City, UT, on December 28, 1944, to parents Lyndon Leon Dudley and Ruth Chapple Dudley. She was the youngest of five children and the last one to pass. Lois attended Granite High School, graduating in 1963. That same year she married Ronald Clegg LeMon with whom she had four amazing sons. They later divorced and she single-handedly raised her boys while pursuing various careers. She worked at Hercules, Inc., and the former Pioneer Valley Hospital in West Valley City, UT, where she did emergency room patient intake. It was there she met her second husband, Douglas Lynn Wimmer. He was a firefighter and EMT with Granger (West Valley City) emergency services, where he got to know Lois in the ER when his job brought him to the hospital. Lois' last job was with Delta Airlines in customer service, and she retired from there. A life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she enjoyed reading about church history, watching spiritual and educational television, and listening to uplifting music. She and Doug also devoted time in working at the Jordan River Temple. She enjoyed gardening and always had fresh vegetables. Her parents had an old walnut tree, and walnuts were always a part of Christmas. In an amazing feat, she planted one of its many nuts, which grew into a wonderful tree of her own, continuing the tradition of walnuts at Christmas. She had an affinity for small white dogs and loved many of them throughout her life.

Lois is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Bob (Bobbi), Rick (Becky), Carie Griffin LeMon, and Russ. Stepdaughters Terre, DeeAnna, and Jacque. Grandsons Zach, Haven (fiancé Kaylee), and Eelan, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by her parents, former husband Ronald Clegg LeMon, second husband Douglas Lynn Wimmer, siblings Don Dudley, Mary Rudd, Helen Curtis, and Kaye Dineen, stepdaughter Paris Anne Wimmer and stepson Robert Wimmer.

Sadly, also preceded in death by her much loved and much missed son Randy, who passed unexpectedly on July 15, 2023, and leaves his widow Carie Griffin LeMon and son Zachary.

"Because life is fragile and death inevitable, we must make the most of each day"-Thomas S. Monson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider planting a walnut and see what may happen, or please contribute to the charity of your choice in Lois' memory.
