Lola S. Cameron returned to her Heavenly Father, husband, parents, brothers, and sisters on July 26, 2018. Lola was born in American Fork, Utah to Alma A. Smith and Amy I. Scogings Smith on July 26, 1931. Lola Mae Smith married Ray Cameron on August 19, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Lola was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by sons Sherman (Susan), Paul (Anne), Ronald (Vikki), Scott (Tarya); daughter Sarah; seven grandchildren: Lauren, Elizabeth (Colby Nash), Hannah, Ahmari, Bradley, David, and Daniel; and two great-grandsons, Archer and Conrad. Lola was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters Oliver, Eva, Forrest, Woodrow (Woody), Irene, and Iva. Lola was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Relief Society President, Primary President, and many other church callings throughout her life. Lola was also a very creative individual and loved many handicrafts, particularly excelling in ceramics. She helped her husband establish a small ceramic shop, was a certified ceramic instructor, and helped many learn to enjoy this craft, particularly at the Talihina State Veterans Center. She was an avid reader and journal writer. The family would like to thank Jordan Valley West Medical Center, Rocky Mountain Hospice, Hunter Hollow, and Visiting Angels for their care of our Mom. We would also like to thank the members of the Hunter 10th Ward for many years of friendship and service. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at the Hunter East Stake Center chapel, 5000 West Pavant Ave. (3710 South), West Valley City. Family and friends may call Friday, August 3rd from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville and Saturday 10:00 10:40 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Primary Children's Hospital.
