Lola Thompson Glenn Larsen

July 22, 1920 — October 22, 2014

Lola Larsen Lola Thompson Glenn Larsen, our sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully at home October 22, 2014 at the age of 94 years old.. She was born July 22, 1920 to Newell and Amy Griffiths Thompson, in Clarkston, Utah. She married Vernon A. Glenn; later divorced. She married Boyce Larsen, who preceded her in death in 2007. Lola and Vernon were parents to JoAn (Frank), Connie, MaryBeth, Katie, and Allen (Bev). She has 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Lola had 11 siblings: Jack, Vernal, Lemoyne, Bill, Norman, Collins, Dennis, Joan, Jeannine, Jess, and Kathy. Lola grew up in Clarkston, Utah, where her family farmed. She graduated from North Cache High School and trained as a nurse in Logan and Tremonton. She was a nurse until she married. She and her husband became farmers, living and working in Tremonton, Blue Creek, Sublet, and Soda Springs. Lola and her family moved to Salt Lake in 1955. Lola was employed at Univac, Litton, and Beehive International, working in electronics. After retiring, she spent many winters in Quartzite, where she and Boyce sang and played guitar, and Lola worked on her art. Lola was a member of the LDS Church. Even though some may say you can't be LDS and a Democrat, Lola was. She was active with the Utah Women's Democratic Club, serving as president twice. She loved to garden, growing geraniums, peonies, and irises, and she had the best lawn in the neighborhood. Her grandchildren never doubted Santa's existence, because he visited OUR grandma's house each December; we sat on Santa's lap and gave him our wishes at the family Christmas party. Lola was a talented artist, creating beautiful glasswork, paintings, and crafts. We are reminded of her each day as we pass by her artwork in our homes. Lola was always organized and prepared. She writes her Christmas cards on Halloween. She even wrote her own obituary, but this is not it! We'll probably find her obituary in a month and it will be in a perfectly logical place. We love and miss you Mom and Grandma ~ You'll always be in our hearts.
