Lorna Christensen Delap, age 92, passed away December 11, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born May 10, 1925 in Ephraim, Utah, daughter of Clarence Christensen and Lorena Oviatt Christensen. She was raised in Ephraim, Utah until she was 13, when her family moved to Salt Lake. She then graduated from Granite High School, achieving the highest GPA in her class. Married Kenneth N. Delap June 17, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She worked many different jobs throughout her life to support her family. Among these were a full-time job as a secretary for Mr. Kaiser at his wholesale business; at the LDS Church Magazine Department, and assorted part time jobs. She especially loved her family, including her husband's family in Illinois. Her hobbies were genealogy and travel, which she pursued both diligently and with enjoyment. She instilled in her family a strong desire to travel by going on many trips with them. Preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; daughter Deena Jackson; son Darrell Delap; brothers Kenneth and LaMar Christensen. She is survived by her son Dale (Lisa); son-in-law Dave Jackson; six grandchildren: Katie Thomas, Julie and Shelly Jackson, Amy (Aaron) Trappett, Sarah and Dan Delap; great-granddaughter Chloe Thomas; sisters Omera Davis and Phyllis (Jay) Deuel; brothers Glen (Carol) Christensen and Peter Dallan (Diane) Christensen. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 16, 12:00 noon, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. A viewing will be held Friday, Dec. 15th, 6-8:00 p.m. and again Saturday prior to services from 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
