Lorna Irene Duncan McCann

Lorna Irene Duncan McCann, age 81, passed away February 25, 2014. Born July 18, 1932 in Bassano, Alberta, Canada to Clarence Edwin and Edna Walters Duncan. Married Jack J McCann May 16, 1949 in Gillette, Wyoming. Lorna was a dedicated mother, grandmother and wonderful homemaker. She was a loving and compassionate care giver to her husband, Jack, for many years after his accident. She loved spending time with her family on camping and boating trips to Bear Lake and Lake Powell. Lorna was a great cook and enjoyed a house full of family and friends. Everyone felt welcome in the McCann kitchen. Some of Jack and Lorna's best years were spent traveling in their motor home spending winters in warm climates and summers in Montana. Lorna set an example of hard work for her family, both on the farm in Montana and later, remodeling and maintaining rental properties with Jack. Survived by son, Jack Steve (Leigh Ann), Cottonwood Heights; Connie (Dennis) Whittaker, Montana; Philip (Darlene), Cayman Islands; Ron (Connie) Draper; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Walt, Ralph, Elmer and Lawrence Duncan. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack. Her family will dearly miss her determined and feisty personality. A special thanks to Lorna's many care givers at Atria Senior and Assisted Living where she lived for many years, and to Pine Mountain Hospice for their loving end of life care. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 28, 2014, 1:30 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held Friday, 12:00 1:15 p.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
