Lorraine Anderton passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 18, 2024. She celebrated her 91st birthday this year. Lorraine was born on October 20, 1933, in Roosevelt, Utah to Axel and Mildred Anderson.
She was devoted to the gospel and modeled the example of Jesus Christ. She served for many years as a service missionary in the Salt Lake Central City Mission, Cannon 1st Ward. She was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served in numerous callings during her long life.
Lorraine is survived by her son Steve (Kim) Anderton and her daughter Stacie (Steve) Sheehy. She also has 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who are the light of her life. She is also survived by her brother Ron (Kay) Anderson and sister Barbara (LeRoy) Luck. She is also survived by a special niece, Loriann Buckley, who spent her teen years living in the Anderton home.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her eternal companion, Don, her son Kyle, his wife Brandy, and two special daughters, Jolyn and Sharlyn. She was also preceded by two beautiful grandchildren, Tyler and Tara Sheehy. All are now reunited in what must be a glorious reunion.
Mom often expressed her desire to serve and prayed every night for the Lord to send her somebody tomorrow that she could help. Then she got busy helping them. She loved everybody. She was truly the best mom, grandma, and friend that anybody could ask for.
A memorial service and celebration of Lorraine's wonderful life will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Sagewood at Daybreak Senior Living Center, 11289 S Oakmond Road, South Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held just prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Redwood Memorial
The family wishes to express our sincere thanks to the staff at Sagewood and to the Canyons Hospice staff who all became loved members of her family while serving her so attentively.
