Lorraine Stevens Bullock

October 12, 1924 — September 10, 2019

Lorraine was taken to paradise on September 10, 2019. She left us in her 95th year. She was born October 12, 1924 to David Earl Stevens and Winona Turner Ursenbach. She is survived by her children, Jim (Nancy), Rick (Sharon), Cecily Zyph (Mike), Judy Ure, Steve (Leslie), Kim (Tina), Glenn (Cindy), and Jonathan (Diane); her brother, Robert Stevens; and sister in law Mary Bullock; 37 grandchildren; and 54 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Reed R. Bullock, son in law Tom Ure; granddaughter, Emily Bullock; and grandsons, Thomas and Justin Ure.

Lorraine was born and raised in Barnwell, Alberta Canada. She was the only girl in a family of 5 children. Her brothers were fiercely devoted to her all of her life. She lost her father at the age of 4. Times were hard for them. After a time, her mother married Wilburn Johnson, and they blended their families.

She married Reed R Bullock in 1945 and raised 8 children: 2 daughters and 6 sons. They started out on a farm in Taber, Alberta. They moved frequently throughout the years while their family was young, finally settling in Bountiful. She was dearly loved by all her in laws and many were her closest friends. They spent many hours together quilting, cooking, singing and tending to children.

Lorraine worked for Kmart for 25 years, she enjoyed her work and the friends she made there. She was a valued employee, receiving awards for her work and dedication to staff and customers. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many positions in the church, serving the Relief Society and Primary. She served a full-time mission in the England Manchester Mission, from 1997-1998. After her mission, she served as Relief Society President at Cornell and served the people there. They loved her very much. They did a lot of service for the Humanitarian Center and she devoted many hours there. She loved the temple and attended weekly for many years.

She lived a life of service, whether it was for her family or those in whom she came in contact with, quietly serving in whatever capacity was needed. She loved unconditionally, never judging, and was a great example to all. She had a great sense of humor, and quick wit. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They loved her too and have many fond memories of their time together.

It is hard to put into a few words and pictures, the well lived life of someone
you love.
