Louise Huggard Hall, age 98, whose "only serious goal in life was to be a wife and mother" peacefully passed away June 8, 2024.
Mom achieved her goal with flying colors!
Mom was a selfless and caring mother of four, a fully engaged and caring grandmother of 10, and an adoring and caring great-grandmother of 38.
"I thought it was fun learning from the kids," Mom would often say.
But before the kids, there was Mel, the love of Mom's life for 57 years and her eternal companion. Mel passed away on April 10, 2002, and Mom has missed him every day. But, said Mom, "true love never grows old."
Mel and Louise taught their posterity to love and serve the Lord, to be honest and diligent workers, to find joy in life, and to love one everyone.
Mom was a true optimist, never sweating the small stuff. When faced with a tough decision, Mom would take a step back. "Put it on the back burner," Mom would tell herself. "Don't make a hasty decision."
And Mom would carry on.
Mom was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in a variety of callings. Mom particularly enjoyed Family History. She also loved serving with the youth, especially when Mom's own kids were teens, thus allowing her to spend even more time with them. Later she enjoyed teaching Relief Society.
Mom and Dad served a three-year mission together. Mom loved their faithful missionaries and deeply cherished her memories of them.
Mom had many dear friends. Together they laughed, talked, and enjoyed life. She was a true "people person" who brought joy into the lives of others.
Mom (and Dad) also deeply loved their children and their children's spouses: Kathy and Alan Jex, Karen and John Seely, Val and Rick Hall, Tammy and Rob Hall. Mom thoroughly enjoyed rearing her children, and she never regretted one moment of being with them.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell and Susan Newson Huggard, and her only sibling, Lois Huggard Skillicorn.
Mom loved her friends and neighbors and would be honored to have them remember her at a service on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, noon, at the Ridgecreek Ward, 5735 S. Fashion Boulevard, Murray. She will be interred in the Murray City Cemetery next to her eternal companion. There will be no formal viewing. Those wishing to greet family members are most welcome to do so at the graveside. Louise's family is so very grateful to the kind, caring, loving - and fun - individuals at Aspen Ridge West, who tenderly cared for Mom with genuine human kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian Fund.
